The Mr Bees Micro-Brewery is based on the beautiful Suffolk Coast. Our beer is produced using only the finest ingredients, sourced locally. All the malted barley comes from Suffolk and we use only the finest quality English hops. We also farm over 100 beehives in the local area and all our beer is produced using honey direct from our own beehives. We have found that using our own honey in the beer gives it an extra dimension and a smooth mouthfeel.

Although we are a small brewery we supply a wide range of trade customers including pubs and clubs based mainly in the Suffolk area. We also often sell our beer at beer festivals and sometimes we attend events ourselves and sell direct to customers.

If you are a pub or club within Suffolk and wish to offer your customers a high quality traditional real ale with a difference, then do contact us as we are always happy to help.

Our casks always come back empty and so you will not be disappointed.

Our Beer

We produce a range of different beers.

We produce 5 core beers (see below) and 5 changing seasonal beers.

Please phone or email us for details on what is in stock and we will be always pleased to help you.

Beelightful 4.3%

Beelightful is a classic English ale.  We make it with the finest natural quality ingredients including East Anglian barley, a blend of English hops and Suffolk honey, direct from our own beehives.  There are no artificial colours, preservatives, concentrates or sweeteners.  Beelightful is made using 3 different types of barley and we include the hops at 3 different stages of the production process.  We then add our own honey which we feel really lifts the hop flavour and gives the beer a smooth mouthfeel.

Our apiaries are situated around different villages near the beautiful Suffolk coast.  Each of our hives can have up to 70,000 bees during the summer and this year we intend to keep over 200 hives – that means we will have in excess of 14,000,000 honey bees.  We are very proud   that they will be out pollinating crops, plants and flowers – which helps to support local agriculture, wildlife and the local environment.  The bees will of course, also produce delicious honey and this honey is used to make our lovely ‘hoppy’ flavoured Beelightful.

Our beer has been formulated and produced so that it fines within 24 hours.  We also condition the beer for 2 weeks before it is sent out.  That way, our customers can serve Beelightful 24 hours from the date of delivery.

Best Bee-r 4.0%

Mr Bees Best Bee-R is made using the highest quality ingredients, much of which comes direct from Suffolk. We make it with the finest Suffolk Pale and Crystal Malted Barley. This this gives the beer a very nice toffee-like flavour. We also add Torrified Wheat which enhances the sweet rich flavours. We use the classic English Goldings hop - which is a very versatile hop. The Goldings hop allows gentle bitterness and also finishes the beer with very nice floral, slightly spicy and earthy aromas. We lastly add a ‘touch’ of honey direct from our own Suffolk beehives, which we feel gives the beer a lift and a smooth taste. We use no artificial colours, sweeteners or preservatives in our Best Bee-R.

Keeping bees is vitally important to us. One hive alone, has around 60,000 worker bees during the middle of the summer. The worker bees work incredibly hard collecting pollen and nectar for the colony. This results in the pollination of a wide variety of different crops, plants and flowers. This of course, is very important to local agriculture, wildlife and the local environment.

We have formulated and produced our Best Bee-R so that it fines within 24 hours. We also condition the beer for 2 weeks before it is sent out to customers. That way, customers can drink our Best Bee-R at its very best.

Pollen Power 3.8%

Pollen Power is a Golden Beer that has been produced using only the finest quality ingredients, much of which comes direct from Suffolk.  We make it with a blend of Pale and Crystal Malted Barley, with Torrified Wheat which adds to the beers balance.  We also add a small amount of cereal and a touch of honey direct from our own beehives.  This helps give the beer a very smooth taste. To complete the process a blend of different types of English hops are used to ensure that the beer has good all round flavour with fruity overtones.

We keep over a 100 beehives and pollen is a vital source of food for our bees.  Pollen, otherwise known as Bee Bread, is the main source of protein and vital minerals for the development of a bee colony.  A wide range of pollen can be found in Suffolk and pollen traces can be found in our delicious honey, a critical ingredient in our Pollen Power Golden Beer.

We fine the beer 3 times during the production process.  We also condition the beer for 2 weeks before it is sent out.  That way, customers can serve Pollen Power Golden Beer 24 hours from date of delivery, if they wish to do so.

Bee Clipse 4.5%

Bee Clipse is a Fall Back Beer, and as the name suggests, it should be drunk during the period when the clocks have Fallen Back for Autumn and Winter.  We make it using a blend of different ingredients including Pale, Crystal and Chocolate Malt, Roasted Barley and a touch of unmalted cereal.  We use 3 different English hops and these are added 3 times during the production process (triple hopped).  We finish the beer by adding a small amount of honey, direct from our beehives in order to give the beer a smooth taste.  The result is a tasty dark beer with a range of different flavours.

We fine the beer 3 times during the production process.  We also condition the beer for 2 weeks before it is sent out.  That way, customers can serve Bee Clipse 24 hours from the time of delivery.

Black Bee Chocolate Stout 4.5%

Our Black Bee Chocolate Stout is a tasty smooth stout.  It is made with Pale Malt, Crystal Malt, Wheat and with a large quantity of Chocolate Malt.  We triple hop Black Bee with a range of English hops and finish it with rolled oats and a touch of honey direct from our beehives.
The Black Bee, otherwise known as the British Black, is the native honey bee to Britain.  The Black Bee has a number of qualities such as winter hardiness, good defenders against wasps, efficient pollen collectors and they are very good workers even in cool weather conditions.  With such qualities we felt it only right to name our tasty Chocolate Stout after them.
